I would like to build a swiss k31 using the stmarie drill/tap scopemounts and i'm thinking of taking another one of my k31's and putting the stmarie doptler sights on it too. Any thoughts?

I've purchased the swiss k31's ever since they were first offered but never really got into them until now. I just cleaned them up and lubed them and
put them in the safe. I took one out today years later to play with it. Back then i took the bolts apart and lubed them with moly. I noticed how smooth the
bolts got after lubing them. I have some 7,5mm GP11 ammo and i'm going to shoot it soon. I was wondering how good are groups with this rifle and ammo
benchrested at 100yds?

Welcome!!! You've stumbled onto one of the finest and most accurate milsurp rifles available!! K31's in good condition with GP11 can hold sub MOA
groups if the operator is willing to oblige...
Enjoy! Browse around and make yourself at home... We love it when somebody catches Swiss Flu!

You know i just kept on purchasing these awesome rifles and putting them into the blackhole in each safe. One day while oiling up the guns i never knew i had
so many of the k31's. As far as accuracy if i can shoot 1 1/2" groups at 100yds with my swede m96 carl gustaf 6,5mm mauser benchrested and I'm
hoping the swiss k31 will match that or even do better if i do my part. I'm not the greatest marksman nor bragging but i can hold my own. Now i need to
get out and shoot the k31 to see how it does.
BTW; I had this swiss flu for a while now but i didn't know what it was until i held the rifle again today i just got that warm and fuzzy feeling again.(kidding) But these rifles are awesome. I been told the top 3 military surplus bolt action rifles are the swiss k31, finnish m39 and the swede m96 mauser. Soon i will find out for sure i guess.

Welcome bigbill. We all understand that "warm and fuzzy feeling".

Click on the images tab at the top of the page by your login name. It will open a window and you can create a folder for your pics. In the folder click on
upload files, click on browse and you can import pics from your computer to the folder. When creating a new topic or reply click on the add images and select
your pic. It's easy as I was able to figure it out and if I can anyone can.

Here's the first one were i cleaned up the stock on it. I found the Belhen solar lux orange/yellow stain matches the orginal stain on the swiss
k31's. Then with a few coats of formby's tung oil its looking good. Not like new but it still has the history marks on it too. Now she is all
dressed up and ready to shoot.

I find it rather odd that all my swiss rifles had excellent looking bluing but the wood stocks were kind of abused on some of them. The walnut stocks were the
worst ones but they all did clean up ok. After i cleaned up each stock i purchased another k31 and the process continued till i got burned out.

Nice looking rifle bigbill. To keep from getting burned out you need to buy other models of the Swiss rifles.

When i first seen these being offered for just $79 how could i refuse them. They were sending the beech and walnut stocks for the same price. Its funny how
once the ammo became available how fast these rifles caught on. It was the samething with the swede mausers too they were dirt cheap and no one would buy them
until the ammmo became available. History does repeat itself for sure.
Samco Global arms was offering the older swiss rifles for many years but i never bought one. They were a little pricey even back then too. |
