Wow - only $16US each! Of course, you may have to buy 75,000 to get that price!

Hello,
What's the closest model in the catalogue now? I believe that it is the ranger series of knives? Best, Chris |

The new Swiss army knife is similar to the German army knife also made by Victorinox and there is also a resemblance to the Dutch army knife see... http://theswissriflesdotc...board.yuku.com/topic/2586 Guisan.

Should be the same knife as the one the german's bought. Only the grips are different.

I liked the fact that they made sure it was made in Switzerland and not outsourced.
Back in 2001, after Wong Wei (that was the pilot's real name) bumped into our plane and they kidnapped our crew for a month when they were forced to land there due to the damage, there was a firestorm over the fact that the US Army berets were being made in China. In true gubmint fashion, the story goes that the Army shipped the Chinese made berets to some obscure factory in the USA where the "made in China" tags were torn off, thus hiding the origin, and returned them to inventory. My tax dollars at work. Can you send us some of your politicians? You don't want ours. I'm surprised the swiss haven't developed their own multi-plier, aka the farmer tool as sold by Leatherman, Gerber, et. al. I still have my Swiss Army knife but it has no pliers or wire cutters. If they combined the quality of the Swiss tools and added the pliers, they'd put the others out of bidness. Matt |

In 1981 The New Yorker magazine offered a spoof about the Swiss Army fork, of which I can find only this abstract: http://www.newyorker.com/...3_032_TNY_CARDS_000333632

You wouldn't want our politicians either, trust me.
What you're looking for is called the "Swiss Tool" http://www.aceros-de-hispania.com/gb/infer.asp?ac=17&trabajo=listar&pa=herramientas-victorinox&sg=herramientas-victorinox |

Hi Krag, Yeah, the Swiss Army tool is what you're looking for. It's the greatest. There are four versions, two with blackened oxide finish, two with
bright finish, all four stainless. I like the old style, but the "Spirit" version has scissors, which makes it way more versatile as far as I'm
concerned. Great tools, best of all the multi-tools by far. Semper Fidelis, Fathead

I've got a Swiss tool also, and i really like it.
Mine is shiny stainless and has the seatbelt cutter, don't know the name of the model though. |
