I've been searching and reading trying to understand the pros and cons of something like the mojo snapsight with front and rear aperture versus the St.Marie type II diopter sights, or the W+F diopter sights for that matter. My search kung-fu is weak. Please educate me if you have the time.
Are the diopter sights better than the mojo sights? How come?
Next question, are the W+F better than the St.Marie, or is the cost difference just about collectibility?
I know there must be something to the diopter sights, since they cost more and so many seem to use them. But I can't tell what makes them better with the information I have found so far.
I gather that the mojo is further from the eye than the diopter. Is that a bad thing?
For now I will use the rifle for the occasional range visit. But I do want to hunt with it at some point, so I'm concerned about possible low-light condition affecting the sights as well. With the mojo I know I could remove the front aperture sight and put in a blade (threaded sights seem like a nice option), which might help.
Yes I'm new to this! This is my first and currently only rifle. After much searching and reading up on various rifles, the k31 became my choice. I bought it from classicarms.us. Matching numbers but no card under the plate.
If anyone in the Austin Texas area has some pointers for me, maybe can show me what their upgraded sights look like in person...that would be wonderful!
Thanks for your time. Sorry for what must be redundant questions.
Regards,
Kevin
