I don't mean to sound like a politician, but it all depends on the price of copper. Right now we've got a figure of $33/100, but that could change drastically.
With Goblins stealing copper plumbing out of houses in broad daylight, I get the Willies............
Basically, this whole bullet project is more a labor of love than a cash machine. I always wanted to run bullets, anyway, so as long as we meet our fixed expenses, I don't need to "finance a lifestyle", if you get me.
I have to put the nose die on Rush order, which is more than twice the price, but a wait of "only" 3 months or so.......in time for Summer matches, I hope. It's all up to Corbin. The bullets have to be perfect, or the whole point is moot: we could all just keep shooting VLD's or whatever. I'm waiting as fast as anybody else.......
I can't wait to hear the number for insurance on this thing. Gonna take a good long shot of booze before I open up that letter!

If I understand my swaging die tech, a mild steel jacket is technically possible with Corbin dies, BUT:
-if and only if- no local/state/fed laws consider it an "armor piercing" projectile
the dies are carbide to take the constant wear (I cringe to think of the cost!)
the jacket grips the lead core properly (no problem with copper, but I've heard steel is a different prospect)
For these reasons, no steel jackets. But you're on the right track.........there's always a possibility some zinc or other alloy might do.
