I did something drastic to my beech stock! |
Lead | |
|
After trying to refinish the most beat up beech stock on 3 different ocassions I finally threw in towel. I sent out the stock to one of premier stock painting
guys and let him at it. He uses a paint that I believe is called Polane T (epoxy) and gives a very tough finish. So, don't cuss me out as I gave it my best
shot and couldn't get it right. My wife loves it so thats a good thing!!

Interesting. Is that some kind of snow camo pattern?

It's actually called presentation tan with black web, but I too thought it had sort of a camo thing going on. My camera washes out light colors so it looks
too light in the picture.

Most Camera light meters are set up for 18% grayscale average light metering. This will make a white background go grey
White balance metering will be correct for a white backgound. Just have to adjust in photo-software.

That's similar to what Martin Blum of Blum Waffen does in Erlenbach Switzerland see...

It is definately a solution for a really bad looking stock. At least I'm not the only one who is thinking outside the box. I will continue to try and
refurbish any new K's I pick up but if they are really beat I have a solution in my back pocket.
As a matter of fact, I like it so much I ordered a brand new Weaver Grand Slam scope to top it off!!

Well I have an early simple Bürgin in used ok condition at € 130 and a new "power lever" Bürgin in the white at € 220, both include shipping but I
guess you won't like the exchange rate....

I think it's cool. And it's your rifle, do as you see fit.

'advanced" Buergin with 'power lever' has a mechanical
acting/pivoting arm that would give the user mechanical advantage in operating the bolt from the left side. Or something to that effect.
