if God didn't want us to eat animals he wouldn't have made them out of meat.

Out here the rule on wolves seems to be the three S's: shoot, shovel, and shut up. Same thing if you find a cat (large variety - not pain in the ass domesticated spoiled rotten version that's too fat and lazy to kill mice).

One of my colleagues saw a coyote running down the street near the college with somebody's pet cat in his mouth.

I was able to skin enough of the pelt myself to have enough fur to make a quiver for my tradional bow arrows. I am tanning it now, and expect to begin work on the quiver in the next few days. I was able to save the ears, so I think it will look pretty cool. I'll upload photos when it's all done.

Good shot! Anytime you can hit a 'yoke' with a rifle chasing after it like you did is good. Must be a mess of them on your place.

...nobody I know skins coyotes here in central Mississippi, but some might I am not aware of it. My brother in Penna still traps and he snares coyotes and cleans the pelts. Federal law requires Bobcats be tagged but most consider them a nuisance pest here.

I shot this coyote with the Norma soft-tip ammo. I have read reports of the FMJ stuff going straight-through and not even slowing the predator down. I meant to grab my cheaper box of Wolf soft-tips, but in the panic to get loaded and get on the trail of the bastard I grabbed the expensive stuff.

One more word about safety-- you all of course know that the 1911 (and the K31) has a safety mechanism whereby the the bolt will not push back in after the last round has been fired. You...

No need to worry you silly hens...haha. Prior to this photo I emptied the magazine and cleared the chamber. I pull the cocking ring back to more prominently show off the rifle. I was having a hard time getting it to balance on the coyote. The barrel was facing a safe direction at the time of the photo.

I'm a military trained marksmen, concealed weapon's permit holder, NRA life member, and dedicated gun-safety advocate. I appreciate your keen eye for safety, but this scenario...
