Swiss SIG SG 550-1 Sniper Rifle.....how accurate????

For those of you that have fired a SIG 550 sniper rifle; how accurate is the sniper compared to the standard military 550 rifles??? Im just wondering how much better the sniper is as a target rifle. The longer hammer forged barrel is match grade I would guess, and the trigger is improved. The adjustability of the gun is told to be excellent as well......

Any one that has any direct shooting time with one of these; I welcome your feedback.

I have found a few used, Dr. Wohler rifle scopes for sale. They are in fair to good+ condition. However they are 2X 17 degree visual field rather than the 4X 7 degree field of vision like the ones issued for the Swiss SIG AMT/510-4 series rifles. These were originally used for Carl Gustaf Recoilless anti tank rifles. Has anyone used these with their Swiss SIG rifles???? I could see using them for the SIG 510-4/AMT since the Swiss SIG issued ones are impossible to find. These Dr. Wohler scopes...

Swiss SIG "SPORTER" SG 550-1SP.....value???

I found a Swiss SIG rifle for sale. Its like new but without a box, no papers. It looks unfired and is 98% condition......it is what I believe was called a "Sporter" or sportsmans hunting rifle. The gun is made made in Switzerland. It is the SIG "grey" with green furniture. The stock is fixed (non folding) and is similar to the european sporter style of other rifles I have seen.

The gun is marked; SG 550-1SP...........does anyone know anything about this...

Ok finally i have found time to get some pictures of my new beauty that cames directly from the Ticino Canton. The rifle was modified to pemit the importation in Italy. I the next days i will take pictures of the modifications.

Regarding Swiss made and Swiss issue rifle scopes for the SIG AMT/510-4 and SIG 550/ STGW 90 PE series rifles.....How difficult is it to get/find a new or mint condition Scope??? Other than the Dr. Wohler and the Kern scopes are there any other scopes that were normal issue for these Swiss SIG rifles??? Earlier this year there was a new Swiss Kern scope for sale but the asking price was between $5000 and $6000 USD. Does anyone have any leads on getting these "hard to find" items?...

If a SIG 550 set up for semi auto only is changed over to full auto,is it then considered a "machine gun", and is there a need for a special permit to do this mod and/or to own a full auto SIG rifle???? I live in Colorado USA. I have a handful of Swiss rifles including a few SIGs....I have seen full auto shear parts, and even full auto lowers for sale here in the states (actually these "full auto" conversions allow single round, 3 round burst, and 20 round/full auto...

I have seen 3 basic colors used for these SIG STG/STGW 90/PE/550 rifles.....GREY, GREEN, and BLACK. I have also seen a number of 2 toned rifles; such as Grey and Green, Green and Black, Black and Grey.......are these guns issued in 2 toned colors or are parts and colors being mixed after the gun is sold????
