			<description><![CDATA[ Found a nice M78/81 Vetterli at Cabelas in Wheeling, WV.

They had 399.00$ on it, I offered 325.00$, and we settled at 350.00$.

She has a bore that cleaned up to like new, and a spare firing pin under the buttplate.

<br>
The spare firing pin wasn&#39;t wrapped in foil, so I oiled it and wrapped it up in a little bit of aluminum foil.

			<description><![CDATA[ Having read Parashooter&#39;s  solution to an extractor not grabbing brass I&#39;d like to know if it&#39;s possible to increase tension by slightly bending
without breaking the extractor body itself?  I&#39;m using reformed Graf 8MM Lebel cases so the rims should be plenty large.

Again another question. I&#39;ve been able to obtain a M71 with good wood and overall apparence is good. Only.......the barrel is really rusty at the last
4&quot; of the barrel. Also the first 2&quot; right behind the chamber is really rusty.

The lands/groves are still visable and look sharp, but rusty. I gave it a good cleaning, with a light polishing compound, and they did clean up well but the
pitting is still visible.....Does pitting affect my accuracy very much?... ]]></description>

Does somebody know if it&#39;s possible to switch bolts from a M81 into a M71? They do fit and close, but is it safe to shoot? I&#39;m considering this because
the bolt from the M71 isn&#39;t in such a good shape and isn&#39;t converted to centerfire, and the M81 has already been converted.

He found a nice rifle locally here in rifle that was in great shape, with a matching M81 pattern sawback bayo...  All except the bore which looked a little
sewer pipish, even after a good scrub...

			<description><![CDATA[ I promised some weeks ago to post a target whenever I finally got to shoot my Vetterli.  Well, today was that day and I wasn&#39;t dissappointed.  I used 348W
brass (formed in the Lee 41swiss die) and 300gn. 422 dia. tapered paper patch bullets from Buffalo Arms Co. (Montana Swaging).  Brass was trimmed to 42mm and
OAL was mostly 2.200 in.  I followed examples of others with similar lead bullets and used 20gn. of IMR4759 powder.  I coated each bullet with Alox and

			<description><![CDATA[ New member here. I just got a vetterli at an auction and I&#39;ve been trying to figure out exactly what it is. It has the sliding door over the magazine on
the right side of the reciever and the magazine load lock on the left side of the reciever which would seem to make it a model 1869. But it has double set
triggers and a shutzen style butt plate which I have not seen mentioned on this web site for 1869 models.There are no serial numbers visible ( I haven&#39;t
